Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so you want to look your best. Unfortunately, there are some common bridal makeup mistakes that can ruin your big day. If you avoid these seven mistakes, you'll be sure to look gorgeous.

1. Not Rehearsing

You would never buy a wedding dress without trying it on, so don't make the same mistake with your makeup. Always do a fitting with your makeup artist to make sure you like the look of your makeup. This is also a great opportunity to make sure your makeup will stay put day and night.

2. Not Wearing SPF

You may not worry about getting sunburned on your wedding day, but you should still use sunscreen or products containing SPF. SPF will protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun and help your makeup stay fresh all day long. It will also remove the glare of the flashes that fire when you take a photo.

3. Applying Intensive Foundation

It's important to have flawless skin on your wedding day, but you don't want to look like you're wearing a mask. Make sure you use a light foundation and distribute your foundation well.

4. Not Using Make-up Base

If you want your makeup to look its best, you need to use a base. Base creates a smooth canvas for your foundation and helps your makeup last all day. At the same time, it acts as a continuation of your skin care and provides the extra support your skin needs.

5. Not Using Waterproof Mascara

Even if you don't normally use waterproof mascara, you should definitely use it on your wedding day. You never know when you're going to shed a few tears and you don't want your mascara running down your face.

6. Wearing the Wrong Lipstick

Your wedding day is not the time to try a new shade of lipstick. Stick to a color that you know suits you and that you feel comfortable using.

7. Not Setting Your Makeup

When your makeup is done, be sure to set it with a setting powder and/or spray. This will help your makeup stay put throughout the day and prevent you from shining when flashlights go off.
